KYLE IRWIN 
GUITAR

As a guitar instructor, Kyle strives to cover all bases and meet the needs of students on an individual level, always. Mainly, a jazz guitarist he brings a wealth of experience from this domain, however in his teaching practice he not only uses material from this genre, also drawing from classical, folk and pop/rock repertoires Kyle's experience in music has afforded him the chance to play and teach throughout Europe and North America, teaching in local and international schools, universities and instrumental workshops.

Currently he divides his time between working as a Guitar instructor for a local authority in Scotland, freelance teaching at Edinburgh Napier University and working on his own projects as a professional musician. Additionally, he is almost at the end of Doctoral studies at Napier University, which involves research into the dynamics of collaboration and co-authorship in group music-making.

Kyle's main areas of expertise are in improvising and one to one guitar teaching, he also covers harmony, ensemble skills and teaching to a syllabus (SQA, ABRSM etc) and welcomes students of all ages, background and experience.
