Alison Gurillo- Piano/Violin Tutor

Alison has been teaching and performing for over 10 years. She has a Bachelors Degree in Classical Violin and Piano from the University of Aberdeen, as well as an MMus degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in traditional fiddle and piano. Before her university studies, she was accepted into the Junior RCS in which she studied Scottish fiddle alongside her own studies of classical music.

Alison’s music career has taken her worldwide, from the Edinburgh Fringe festival playing Scottish music, to the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh playing Bluegrass, touring the USA playing Irish music, and touring Belgium with an orchestra. She has played for dignitaries in Hungary alongside native Gypsie musicians and taught at a youth camp in Norway.

As a teacher, she loves getting into the details of music and instruments and understanding the technique and theory behind the performance. Alison enjoys teaching all levels, from beginner to advanced on fiddle, violin and piano, and also teaches music theory. Alison’s passion and love for music is infectious, and she strives to help others both young and young at heart to achieve all their goals and expand their abilities.
